Details of the offer

Project Manager - Great Boss & Variety of Projects With a nearly half a century history, our company has been a stalwart in the South Australian construction industry, earning a reputation as a trusted builder. The values, principles, and strategies instilled by their founders continue to guide our current leaders and managers, propelling this award-winning business forward. This is the secret to what has made them successful and a household name in SA. That pioneering spirit has never died and is now in the hands of people working for this fantastic head contractor.  As a Tier 2 Builder with nearly 200 employees across South Australia, our success is rooted in a culture prioritizing its people above all else. We understand that a happy company leads to satisfied clients, and this belief has been their guiding principle for decades.  This has been their modus operandi for decades as it's the glue that keeps the place an employer of choice for aspiring and experienced construction professionals like you. Client Culture This brings me again to what they value most: their people. Some construction companies cut corners and see their employees as helpful assets. This business is the opposite. They've spent millions of dollars fitting out one of the best headquarters I've ever stepped into, knowing that having a place where their staff can look forward to coming to work every day is the difference between a harmonious culture and a worker bee mindset.  Whether it's a flexible working environment, working from home understanding, a well-resourced team and mentor, or the open-door career development and learning policy.  This business grows every facet of a construction professional's career pathway to ensure you become the best you can be.  This begins and ends with the company's leadership being the example everyone wants to emulate and become the company's future.  Leadership This company has had the same Construction Manager, Operations Manager, and Commercial Manager leading the organization chart from the front for almost a decade, which shows that it's a place worth staying and a company worth working for.  They live and breathe the company's vision, knowing that what they do matters and that people are always watching.  "Your culture can't be faked because it's only what your people do when you're NOT around those counts. "David Millowick" This opportunity would suit a Project Manager who feels it's time to join a company that will give them complete autonomy over the project they are working on without micromanagement.  The Construction Manager is looking for someone who sees themselves as their own boss and dictator of success. Linear leadership is critical for this business.  This could mean you've got 3 - 4 years of experience as an intermediate Project Manager on projects of around $10M—$20M, and you feel it's time to level up into the Tier 2 space and prove to yourself that you're ready for the next step.  This could also mean you've got 5 – 8 years of experience on projects of around $30M—$50M and feel your next move has to give you the freedom you've been looking for by working on-site instead of the office, the flexibility you deserve to work when it suits you so you are always at your best, and last but not least, the salary you know you're worth so you don't have to worry financially.  Whatever your motivating factors for being in the market now and reading this advertisement, rest assured that this business could very well be the place you're looking for, personally and professionally.  As a turnkey business, they cater to every category of project scope. Whether you're into schools, retail, banking, hospitals, prisons, government, or even aged care, they have built and have many repeat clients coming up year after year.  They currently have 2-3 projects starting in June, between $15M and $40M, for which they are looking for 2 Project Managers to join the business.  There will be one senior project manager position to run the $40M project and one Project Manager position to run one of the $15-$20M projects.  Team  One of the best things about this company is they don't run skeleton staff teams on any projects, so rest assured you'll have a CA, a Site Manager, a Project Engineer, and a Project Coordinator if needed, even on a $20M project as they know it pays dividends in the long run.  Mindset  I find it belittling to whoever is reading this to list a bunch of generic responsibilities and skills you no doubt already have but for the sake of someone reading this who doesn't have them. Please see below for a brief breakdown of what you'd do daily if you landed this opportunity.  Firstly, you'd be involved in the end-to-end delivery of the entire project. Depending on which one they think you'd be most suited to. It could be a large commercial project worth around $40M or a healthcare / aged care project worth around $20M.  Although the personality of the person they seek isn't critical in the decision-making criteria, the ideal candidate would be very comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders without any issues.  Accountability, responsibility, and specific expectations come with autonomy, freedom, and an excellent salary. This means they'd expect your risk analysis, improvement methodologies, and profit margin strategies to be at a high enough level to match those of a seasoned veteran.  "Years of service doesn't equate to mastery, but dedication to your craft does." David Millowick  This would show in your strong negotiation skills, efficient time management, and ability to juggle various deadlines without the pressure of the job getting to you.  Person  Like my above statement, telling you how to do your job isn't what I'm here for, but I can explain some of the critical core competencies and what I call critical DNA that would be advantageous if you had such traits in your repertoire. Starting with having a sense of Self-Actualisation. Which essentially means having a deep drive to face challenges and find fulfillment in your work. (This is the most important and shared critical DNA trait for all top performers.  Someone who has some grit to them. This means you have courage, resolve, and strength of character under hardship, giving you excellent negotiation skills and a never-back-down attitude.  Someone conscientious. You are rarely late, meet expectations, and are thoughtful of others. Not because you are obligated externally to do it but because you are motivated internally to do it for yourself due to the high standard you have for yourself. Someone who is a team player. This means you understand your role, welcome collaboration, hold yourself accountable, have a positive attitude, and, most of all, commit to the team you're in until the project is completed. Someone who is intellectually curious. This means you constantly ask questions, challenging the status quo, and intrinsically pushing yourself to grow.  CTA Consultant  If you want to see all the reviews on all the clients and candidates I've helped over the years and what they said it was like partnering with me, please, by all means, click the Sourcr link below and have a read. This will show you that I've won Recruiter of the Year in Construction and Engineering two years in a row and have Been an Executive Consultant for The CTA Group for almost ten years.  Hopefully, that gives you confidence that you're dealing with someone who knows and believes in what they are doing at the highest level but, most importantly, can talk to you at your level.  CTA Way  The process is simple at The CTA Group. If you stay transparent, I will too. I'll give you everything you need to make an informed decision about the opportunity in question as quickly as possible so you can decide if it's for you.  Everything is confidential, and you don't need to reply with a CV to have a chat with me about this position or any other role available in the future at CTA.  Just give me a call, and let's chat about the market.  Have a great day! Your application will include the following questions: Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia? How many years' experience do you have as a project manager? How many years' experience do you have in the construction industry? What's your expected annual base salary? Do you have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment? Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check? Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?
