Fixed term role: 6 monthsUsual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)The Role The Project Manager – Engagement will oversee the project plan to implement the SEC Centre of Training Excellence and lead strategic engagement with the renewable energy sector to identify and align industry workforce needs and establish partnerships to support Victoria's skills, training and education response.
Develop and implement the SEC COTE project plan using best-practice approaches, incorporating iterative improvement and user feedback to refine project outcomes.
Monitor performance, manage risks and issues, and provide authoritative advice to senior executives as needed to ensure project outputs and objectives are met.Develop and maintain detailed project artefacts throughout the project lifecycle.
Apply iterative feedback loops to meet evolving project needs and agreed quality standards and support effective governance requirements.Lead detailed stakeholder mapping within the renewable energy sector, including employers, industry associations, and peak bodies.
Develop and implement an engagement strategy to establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with industry partners with an emphasis on understanding workforce needs, challenges, and opportunities within the renewable energy sector.Develop innovative approaches to secure industry investment, including direct funding, in-kind support, sponsorship, and access to equipment or expertise.
Encourage creative problem-solving and co-creation with partners to negotiate agreements that maximise mutual benefits.The Team The position of Project Manager - Engagement forms part of the Strategic Skills Projects (SSP) branch within the Skills and Employment Group.
SSP responds to key skills and employment priorities and election commitments delivering key strategic cross-cutting projects through agile project teams.
Current projects include leading the government response and implementation of the recommendations from the Apprenticeships Taskforce and development of the business case and implementation plan for the creation of the SEC Centre of Training Excellence, paving the way for its establishment.
Establishing the SEC Centre of Training Excellence is a key Victorian Government initiative that aims to partner with industry, and the skills, training, and education sector to attract and train the skilled workforce required for Victoria's energy transition.
About You Key to success in this role are outstanding:
