An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join our team located in Fyshwick on a full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of design documentation ensuring the deliverables of the project are on time, in scope and within budget.
The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Develop and maintain strong and sustainable relationships with clients, builders, principal contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members.Ensure all contractual requirements and obligations are managed in a timely and professional way mitigating any risk exposure for the business.Lead and manage the project team, including active participation in site meetings, partnering with Management to respond to performance and conduct concerns; and providing coaching, feedback, and development to team members.Manage the financial performance of the project by actively monitoring all aspects of the project ensuring procurement, productivity and variations targets are met.Resource and workforce planning including ensuring adequate and appropriate resources are in place to meet the program of the works.Engage with suppliers and approved subcontractors to carry out the works; including agreeing contract terms, costings and managing suppliers/subcontractors to ensure service level agreements are met.Manage the productivity of the site labour team weekly and provide labour forecasts monthly ensuring targets are met.Ensure adherence to WHS legislation across all projects to ensure the provision of a safe working environment for all workers.To be successful in this role, you will have: 5 plus years' experience in managing large/medium scale projects within the construction and building services industry.Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with customer representatives, site and office personnel, suppliers, and subcontractors.Demonstrated experience leading and managing a project team.Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to develop soundly based, innovative strategies that lead to improved profitability.Experience in the planning and implementation of site-related health and safety requirements.Demonstrated knowledge of the financial management systems required for effective project management within the mechanical services industry, including the identification and management of variations.Commercial acumen and financial management with the ability to manage budgets and analyse financial statements.Experience in the use of word processors, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications and financial processing databases.The successful applicant will be required to provide contactable references and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical.
