About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the utilities industry and expertise in managing complex technology transitions. The primary focus of this role will be to lead the end-to-end project lifecycle in transitioning platforms from Confluent to Kubernetes to better meet our organisation's requirements for scalability, reliability, and efficiency. This is a high-impact role, requiring strategic leadership, meticulous project oversight, and strong communication skills to drive successful implementation while aligning with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for transitioning from Confluent to Kubernetes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and IT to ensure seamless integration and optimized project outcomes.Develop, implement, and monitor project plans, including timelines, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management.Oversee change management processes to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of the new platform across the organization.Communicate progress, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and prompt resolution of challenges.Coordinate with technical teams to establish and implement key metrics for success, defining project goals and ensuring consistent tracking against those metrics.Lead regular project status meetings, providing direction and adjusting project plans as necessary to ensure alignment with evolving organizational needs.Document lessons learned and best practices throughout the project lifecycle to support continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience (5+ years) in project management within the utilities sector.Strong background in platform management, with direct experience in transitions or migrations to Kubernetes and/or Confluent.Familiarity with Kubernetes orchestration, deployment processes, and microservices architecture.Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management, project budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach to project execution.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in presenting complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Preferred Skills: Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or similar credential.Experience with Agile methodologies and ability to adapt project management approaches to the needs of the organization.Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in a Kubernetes environment.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment.If you are interested and meet the requirements please apply for a confidential discussion.
