MIDDAY ON FRIDAY, 18 OCTOBER 2024 The Capital Works and Asset Management Unit:
Coordinates the park improvement, tourist road improvement, specific Government funded initiatives and externally funded asset investment programs. Prepares reports on works prioritisation, implementation, monitoring, budget and expenditure. Develops strategic works programs for programs such as specific Government initiatives, natural disaster recovery and visitor risk management. Coordinates road and bridge infrastructure upgrade and maintenance. Develops and maintain asset databases including roads, bridges, recreation sites, tracks and trails. Develops business cases for asset investment initiatives. We are currently seeking to establish a pool of suitable candidates for the role of Project Manager Capital Works to participate and coordinate capital works projects associated with the Parks and Visitor Services (PVS) Division including implementation of election commitments and other government priority projects across the State. Projects include camping and recreation areas, trail construction and visitor facilities (shelters, toilets and boardwalk). In addition, this position prepares and coordinates the procurement process, administration and management of contracts, construction management and delivery to close out of projects. The role also liaises with designers, architects, engineers and other technical professions to facilitate projects.

Selection Criteria To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate your suitability against the following essential selection criteria: Demonstrated (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) experience in the delivery of projects and managing programs to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Experienced (Level 4) or well-developed experience (Level 5) in preparing project documentation and seeking all necessary approvals to meet statutory, design and quality requirements. Demonstrated (Level 4) or well-developed (Level 5) experience in contract management. Demonstrated (Level 4) or well-developed knowledge (Level 5) of recreation planning and recreation site design, in particular recreational trail design and building. Evidence of well-developed (Level 4) or highly developed (Level 5) experience in consulting, communicating and working effectively with project stakeholders, community and Aboriginal groups, government agencies and other organisations as required.
