PROJECT MANAGER, Capital Works and Infrastructure
FTE Negotiable, Fixed Term (5-Year Tenure)
Position immediately availableMelbourne Girls Grammar is seeking an experienced, commercially minded professional to take on the role of Project Manager. As we embark on an exciting period of growth, this individual will drive our Capital Works Program and support the execution of our Strategic Development Framework.
This position is fixed term (5-year Tenure), FTE 0.80 – 1.00FTE (negotiable).
You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and delivering a variety of capital and construction projects across the School. From initial planning through to completion, you will coordinate people, processes, and resources to ensure projects align with MGGS's strategic goals, are delivered on time, and stay within budget. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to creating future-focused, sustainable infrastructure for our students.
Key Responsibilities Define project scope, objectives, roles, budgets, and resources. Create detailed Project Plans to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, managing both internal and external resources.Engage with key stakeholders, including the Principal, Executive Team, School Council, and broader MGGS community, to ensure projects meet strategic needs and standards.Key liaison with Facilities, ICT, and Compliance teams to minimise disruptions to school operations.Track project status, report to the Chief Operations Officer and stakeholders, and manage any adjustments in scope, budget, or schedule. Document all project processes and prepare reports for School Council meetings.Establish and monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and oversee all financial contracts to ensure compliance and financial efficiency.Coordinate final inspections and approvals, ensuring a smooth transition upon project completion. Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons for future improvements.Ensure all activities comply with MGGS policies, with particular emphasis on child safety, OH&S, and contractor management standards.Ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets, track project costs, and ensure financial efficiency.Experience with capital works programs and managing multiple projects simultaneously, including large and small-scale developments.Proven success in managing construction timelines, budgeting, procurement, and stakeholder management.Experience with building codes, regulations, and compliance.Understanding of construction contracts, including procurement, tendering, and contractor management.Demonstrated ability to communicate projects at a high level to School Council and the Community.Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate potential project risks (e.g., construction delays, compliance issues).Demonstrated a high-level attention to detail and strong administration skills to complete tasks quickly and accurately.Benefits of working at MGGS Careers at Melbourne Girls Grammar provide opportunities for high-performing individuals to thrive within an environment that values lifelong learning.
