We are looking for a seasoned Project Manager with experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder financial projects. In this pivotal role you will drive strategic success and steer the efficient and effective delivery of finance-related projects from identification to execution and completion.
As a key member of the Finance team, working as part of the Group Finance and Business Services Centre, you will have the opportunity to shape the success of high-impact projects and build collaborative and influential relationships, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead and deliver projects from planning to execution, including developing detailed project plans, defining project deliverables aligned with Finance goals and coordinating internal and third-party resources.Financial management, monitor and control project budgets ensuring financial objectives are met. Prepare financial status reports and forecasts, conduct cost-benefit analysis and assess financial risks and opportunities.Business partnering and stakeholder management, build and maintain effective partnerships, encouraging an environment of knowledge sharing and identifying opportunities to leverage capabilities. Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including finance teams, executives, and external partners.Take a proactive approach to risk management, identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation strategies.Identify and implement process improvements, apply a best practice approach to evaluating and implementing process improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.Drive project compliance and governance by applying robust project governance and compliance techniques, ensuring projects comply with internal policies and industry standards. Conduct project audits and reviews to ensure adherence to financial controls and procedures.What You'll Bring:
Degree in Finance, Accounting Discipline preferredProven experience as a Project Manager in a finance or related role, with an in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and financial principles and a strong track record of managing complex financial projectsProficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controlsProven experience in process improvement and implementation of accounting best practices as well as demonstrated knowledge of Value Stream Process MappingDemonstrated ability to work in high paced, complex and changing environments and ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlinesStrong business and financial acumen with experience of supporting change management initiativesStrong critical analysis and reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent writing skills and experience in building and managing stakeholder relationshipsAbility to identify and manage risks, with the skills to understand impacts and provide mitigation strategiesBenefits of Working with Downer:
