About the Role The Project Manager manages capital building and associated works by providing technical knowledge and professional advice in accordance with sound project management principles and practices resulting in cost effective and efficient completion of Council's capital works program. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across Council and liaising with relevant external stakeholders.
Reports to: Head of Building ProjectsInternal liaisons: Project Sponsor and other Council departmentsExternal liaisons: Stakeholders, General Public, Other Councils, Professional Bodies, AuthoritiesDuties/Key Responsibilities: Manage the delivery of capital projects and renewal projects.Provide technical advice on design and construction of building projects.Develop project plans, scope of works, specifications, budgets.Conduct regular site inspections and audits on worksites.Consider and implement stakeholder and community engagement.Qualifications, Skills, and Experience (Key Selection Criteria) Tertiary qualification in Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or other field relevant to the planning and delivery of municipal building projects.Experience in works scheduling, procurement processes, contracts supervision and management of small to medium size building and open space projects.Culture People enjoy working at the City of Port Phillip because we are a welcoming, healthy, and inclusive workplace.
