Project Management Analyst
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of PermanencyDetails: The Suburban Land Agency (SLA) is seeking an experienced and motivated PMO Analyst to design, develop, and manage the Project Management Office's (PMO) data and analytics capability.
This critical role will enable SLA to deliver insights and ensure robust project, program, and portfolio management practices that align with organisational priorities.
As part of the Strategy, People & Governance Branch, the successful candidate will collect, clean, and analyse complex datasets to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making across SLA's projects and programs.
The role involves developing and maintaining dynamic dashboards, visualising key performance indicators, and identifying trends to optimise performance and resource utilisation.
Working collaboratively with project teams, the PMO Analyst will support SLA's mission to deliver people-focused developments that contribute to vibrant, sustainable communities across Canberra.
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to monitor project health and portfolio performance.Analyse project, program, and portfolio data to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and highlight risks and opportunities.Provide insights on performance metrics, resource utilisation, and financial health, enabling evidence-based decision-making.Manage data quality and ensure consistency across SLA's reporting and analytics frameworks.Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for executive, board, and ministerial stakeholders.Support portfolio planning and prioritisation by delivering clear, data-driven recommendations.Collaborate with PMO leadership and project teams to align analytics with organisational strategies and priorities.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Demonstrated experience in data analytics and visualisation within a PMO or project management environment.Experience in managing data quality, implementing reporting standards, and delivering innovative solutions to improve efficiency.Professional/Technical Skills and Knowledge Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel), with a proven ability to create clear and actionable reports and dashboards.Experience in project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMBOK) and PMO governance frameworks.Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) and data systems; experience with SQL, Python, or similar tools is desirable.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into accessible insights for diverse audiences.Behavioural Capabilities Adaptable and responsive to changing business needs, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently.Strong collaborative skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and contribute to a positive team environment.Commitment to ethical standards and promoting workplace Respect, Equity, and Diversity (RED).Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 18 months with the possibility of permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW).
Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
