This includes $175m for the delivery of five technical colleges designed to create work-ready school leavers.The Project Leader is responsible for strategically prioritising and overseeing the department's high-risk capital works projects, focusing on the delivery of four technical colleges by the start of 2026.
The position leads the development of creative, timely, practical strategies and insightful business solutions, contributing to the implementation and monitoring of projects that achieve high-quality learning outcomes in accordance with government and department priorities.The Project Leader serves as a trusted advisor on key risks, issues, and opportunities, playing a crucial role in analysing, evaluating, and implementing strategies to ensure successful delivery of high-risk projects within required timeframes and compliance with Department for Education planning and design standards.The position works in consultation with the Director, Capital Projects and Technical Services, to deliver on existing and new schools and technical colleges, leading and managing stakeholder relationships across public and private sectors to proactively identify and resolve complex capital works issues.Desirable Qualifications:Tertiary or post-secondary qualifications in an appropriate discipline, such as Education, Project Management, Asset Management, or equivalent experience.Special Conditions:The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to employment, which must be renewed every five years.
