All about the role:
The Project Leader is the focal point of contact for all functions in the Product Care team and supporting the factory. The role also drives Product Care project planning and management of existing products in term of cost reduction, quality improvement and technical support to its competence factory on product-related problems.
What you'll do: Investigate and implement projects to improve the quality of the manufactured products, to maximize the customer experience and to reduce the Service Call Rate and the warranty costs. Investigate and implement projects to reduce product costs, maintaining the requested level of quality. Provide Industrial Operations with the technical support and design changes to guarantee the production continuity. Assist the factory in the rework reduction and in the obsolete parts reuse. Lead Engineering Changes projects, from the project definition to the approval of the solutions for the mass production and beyond, include fitting into the platform and subsystem structure and defining inputs for Bill of Material (BoM) and other related documentation. Support to improve manufacturability and productivity, contributing to upgrade component and product specifications. Prepare and manage the project progress tracking, timing plans, risk assessments and the reporting of project status. Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify risks that might affect the project, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements. Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes. Organize tests and pilot series with the Production. Report in Check Point meetings/Steering Team when needed Drive standardization and continuous improvement in own competence area. Core Competencies Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field Basic Project Management skills Familiar with PMI (Project Management Institute) terminology and basic tools Knowledge in mechanical component and system development and 3D design tool (CATIA is preferred) Good problem-solving skills Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams Ability to work in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality, ability to take initiative and be proactive, work in an international environment. Fluent English Preferred Competencies Experience in Design for Assembling and Manufacturing Knowledge of the main manufacturing processes (metal forming, injection moulding, die casting) and assembling. Knowledge of quality tools (FMEAs) CAE knowledge You will be based in our Dudley Park, Adelaide manufacturing facility, within the Research and Development team. Why work for Electrolux?
