About the RoleWe have an exciting position within our Track Renewals Execution Team at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Superintendent, this impactful and cross-functional role is responsible for the coordination of the work bank, development and delivery of the execution proposals for the specific scope of works and allocation of resources (both plant and people). Additionally, this role is responsible for managing the capital maintenance portion of the Track Renewals portfolio, including Rerail, Rail Stress Management and Minor Renewals portfolio of work.
The project lead will be responsible for managing the Track Renewals internal team consisting of track, welding, safeworking, resurfacing and logistics resources. The project lead will focus on the coordination and management of workbanks and resources, rather than the direct management of the track construction worksites.
This role offers FIFO from Perth 5/2/4/3 or residential arrangement 5/2 in Port Hedland.
Responsibilities will also include:
Develop execution proposals for scope of worksConduct SFAIRP/risk assessmentsLiaise with planning functions to schedule in works with minimal impact to operations and supply chainObtain approvals eg Project Environmental and Aboriginal Heritage Review (PEAHR), excavation and penetration permits, ensuring compliance to allManage quality control records including handover documentation, ITPs, punch list items and track closeoutUse input from track specialists and track, civil, signals and safety supervisors to develop execution proposalsManage resources (plant and people) to deliver track renewals scope of workEngage with key contractorsAbout YouAlong with your ability to build positive and sustaining relationships, communication and people management skills, you must work well under pressure, have excellent planning skills and an ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines.
To be successful in this role, you will possess demonstrated experience in project delivery and project governance. Exposure to track maintenance/renewals works would be advantageous, however, is not essential.
You will also demonstrate the following:
Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent – civil or mechanical preferableCurrent full C class drivers' licenceAn overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable developmentConstruction planning and management qualifications (track construction valued)Supervisory experience (track works supervision skills desirable)Strong understanding of risk management governance, and applied skills, specifically in execution worksComputer literacy with MS Suite, 1SAP and planning systemsProject delivery and project governanceEffective planning skills, with the ability to oversee projects to successful completionThe following experience is desirable:
