The Strategic Development Projects division is at the forefront of transforming surplus Council land into innovative residential development projects. These projects not only enhance the Salisbury community but also boost our financial capacity to support essential community programs, all while fostering economic growth and job creation in Northern Adelaide.
The Role: As an experienced Project Lead, you will provide leadership, manage teams, and oversee the successful delivery of our Strategic Property Development program. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful land development projects, foster innovation, and make a meaningful contribution to our community.
Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and manage a motivated team, ensuring high-quality work plans, performance measures, and training are achieved.Coordinate and oversee land development projects, ensuring alignment with approved business cases and organizational goals.Prepare project briefs, manage procurement processes, and supervise consultants, technical specialists, and contractors.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and lead community engagement initiatives to align with council policies.Proactively identify project risks, developing and monitoring mitigation strategies.Ensure design principles are integrated throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to construction.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.Represent the council's interests in dealings with contractors, consultants, and the community.Prepare high-quality reports and briefings that reflect a strong understanding of political contexts, policies, and governance frameworks.To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate: Proven leadership skills with the ability to empower and inspire a team.Extensive project management experience, including overseeing on-site delivery from design to completion.Advanced knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.Strong understanding of procurement, tendering, and contracting processes.Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across disciplines.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.Effective conflict resolution skills and the ability to address community concerns with empathy and professionalism.Strong organizational skills to operate autonomously and deliver results.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.Tertiary qualifications in project management, property development, civil engineering, or a related discipline.Comprehensive Benefits Package: Employees at City of Salisbury enjoy a robust benefits package including income protection insurance for personal illnesses or injuries, health and wellness programs designed to support their overall well-being, and free access to counselling sessions for you or your immediate family through our Employee Assistance Programs.
