Project Lead - Data Retention

About The Role We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Lead to oversee the client data retention project, working with a leading financial institution undergoing a significant business merger.
As the Project Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving project activities, conducting gap analyses, and ensuring compliance with data governance regulations.
Your responsibilities will include managing stakeholders, conducting workshops, and providing expert advice on retention information disposal.
In this role, you will be the main point of contact for ad-hoc business requests and will work closely with executive leadership to provide regular project reporting and updates.
Additionally, you will lead a project team to complete current state assessments, develop project templates, and facilitate workshops to address key data retention issues.
This position offers the flexibility to work remotely with occasional meetings from their Newcastle office and is a contract up until June 2025.
What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk and compliance, with in-depth knowledge of data governance, risk assessment, and privacy regulations.
You will be responsible for collaborating with various teams including legal, compliance, and technology to identify gaps and develop strategies for data retention remediation.
Your expertise in prioritizing tasks, conducting accurate gap analyses, and driving project outcomes will be essential in successfully leading this initiative.
