An exciting opportunity has arisen for a curious, focused and personable Hydrogeologist to join SLR's Hydrology & Hydrogeology discipline in Sydney. Delivery of quality work for our internal and external clients, and the increasing profile of our brand, has resulted in a strong backlog and pipeline and a wealth of interesting project opportunities for new team members who are keen to continue the journey with us. Our geographic spread supports an integrated pipeline of work which gives our team security and diversity of opportunities.

You will be working very closely with the multidisciplinary consultants within our Sydney office as well as the rest of the Hydrogeology & Hydrology consultants across APAC to deliver quality services to our New South Wales and National clients. Our 50 plus person Hydrogeology and Hydrology (H&H) Technical Discipline is one of the largest in SLR APAC and includes over 35 Hydrogeologists. We work in a collaborative environment across our H&H teams in Brisbane, Townsville, Newcastle, Wollongong, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Wellington and Auckland and closely with other SLR environmental specialists. Strong hydrogeological conceptualisation and report writing skills will be a key asset for the role.

As a Project Hydrogeologist at SLR, your main responsibilities will include: Interpretating scientific data to assist in the development of sound conceptual hydrogeological models Preparing quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for, or provided by, clients Building the technical capability of the team through aiding and participating in the learning and developmental growth of yourself and your team members Drafting tenders/proposals for small to medium-sized projects, and contributing to project management tasks including budget preparation and monitoring as required by project demands and timelines Developing, facilitating and enhancing relationships between our internal and external clients, and SLR team members Skills & Experience
Our ideal candidate will have between  4-8 year's + industry experience, including   experience within a consultancy group , and will have the following key skills and experience: Appropriate Engineering or Science tertiary qualification and relevant groundwater industry experience carrying out hydrogeological desktop studies, analysis, and fieldwork Strong hydrogeological conceptualisation skills, including analytical skills to critique data and develop systems understanding, pertinent to individual project needs Excellent communication skills and quality technical report writing Evidence of self-review systems to provide thorough quality assurance of all work completed including review of junior work Demonstrated successful project management experience managing small to medium-sized hydrogeological projects Experience with using GIS and spatial data analysis software packages Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated with the ability to work effectively within a team Thorough understanding and application of NSW groundwater related legislation and guidelines as applied to resource, development and infrastructure projects Working knowledge of other relevant Australian groundwater legislation and policies, standards and guidelines Australia Citizenship or rights to work in Australia Excellent driving history and hold a current driver's license Our benefits at SLR include
