Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen. The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds in the next five years. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working in HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders.
The Project Financial Analyst as part of the Program Performance team, undertakes financial activities for capital projects and coordinates multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities. You will be responsible for providing critical financial advice to Project Directors for the successful delivery of infrastructure projects delivered by the Capital Project Delivery Team.
Reporting to the Manager of Project Finance, you will be required to monitor project budgets and expenditure by identifying a need for information for analysis, completing analysis (including variance analysis), providing technical advice and producing reports within a timely manner.
The successful personTo be successful in the role, you will have proven analytical experience and contemporary knowledge of financial and activity related policies and processes. You will also have demonstrated experience in monitoring and reporting on program/project budgets and understanding of the pressures and constraints impacting on project delivery.
A positive attitude and conflict resolution skills are essential to this role, as is the ability exercise initiative and achieve quality outcomes autonomously and in a team environment, prioritising workload demands to meet competing deadlines.
