About the Opportunity Reporting to a Program Engineering Manager, the Project Engineering Manager provides project engineering direction and leadership to an integrated multi-discipline technical team tasked with delivering engineering projects for the sustainment of the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM).
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.
Responsibilities Directly lead and manage an engineering team to deliver multiple sustainment projects, of varying size and complexity.
Forecast, monitor and report upon project performance and to identify and mitigate technical and project risks before they eventuate.
Collaborate with the engineering leadership team to manage and prioritise the program's resource needs and skills base across the portfolio of sustainment projects.
Ensure the engineering activities are performed in accordance with ASC's engineering and corporate policies and processes.
Ensure the team delivers consistently high quality technical outputs (e.g.
documentation, presentations etc).
Support the development of engineering skills and capability within the team to deliver upon assigned project scope.
About you Tertiary engineering qualification, or relevant equivalent experience, in a technical discipline relevant to the management of complex technical projects.
Demonstrated experience of the design lifecycle and through life support of a complex project in a senior engineering role.
Demonstrated experience in Project Engineering Management on medium to large, multi-disciplined projects.
Experience in building and leading multi-discipline technical teams, including supporting the growth of technical team members through evaluating performance and developing growth plans.
Experience with subcontractor engagement including development of work scope, monitoring and reporting against performance, packaging up engineering work scope and / or integrating subcontractor labour into ASC engineering teams.
A good understanding of the product lifecycle, configuration management, product safety, and engineering governance and assurance.
Design engineering experience utilising the Systems Engineering methodology.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to redirect and reprioritise the team's work scope accordingly.
Evidence of effective internal and external stakeholder management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills evident through timely, relevant and accurate delivery of reporting.
Previous defence engineering/project experience is highly desirable but not essential.
Knowledge and understanding of Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSWMS) and its application to Engineering Delegations and Risk Levels is desirable.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
