Sydney Water has partnered with D4C to deliver design, construction, maintenance, and facilities management services across their southern region - from Bondi to Gerringong, and out to Georges River.
D4C is seeking a Project Engineer in Wet Weather Surcharge to join our dynamic, diverse, and high-performing team in an exciting time of growth.
We need your skills and expertise to help Sydney Water deliver a $34 billion dollar program over the next 10 years to build, maintain, and protect the future of our iconic water resources.
Primary Purpose This role will be a key part of the project team, responsible for ensuring successful construction delivery.
It will focus on managing wet weather surcharges within the network, including sewer renewals and upgrades to gravity sewers and access chambers, using both civil excavation and trenchless technology.
Key Accountabilities Support Construction Leads to ensure projects are delivered within scope, time, cost, quality, and regulatory standards.Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-term project programs, ensuring efficient allocation of plant, labour, materials, and resources.Monitor and review project costs, invoices, and claims, ensuring financial accuracy and accountability.Contribute to the constructability and design development of projects, improving outcomes.Oversee subcontract procurement, including tendering, evaluation, and awarding of packages.Ensure quality control by monitoring incoming equipment and materials against specifications and arranging necessary adjustments as per Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).Manage project documentation, progress reporting, and compliance reporting.Lead and manage the performance of 'Self-Perform' teams and Subcontractors, ensuring project outcomes are achieved.Liaise and coordinate with all external parties and relevant statutory authorities, managing their attendance on site as necessary.Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility, demonstrating leadership in health, safety, and community engagement.Essential Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent.Minimum 5-10 years' engineering experience.Driver's Licence is essential.White Card.We welcome and encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQIA+, people with disability, people with caring responsibilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and veterans.
