The role & you The Project Engineer - Water will provide critical project delivery support services, assisting in all aspects of the delivery of projects for Council's Water & Sewer Capital Works Program.
Working under the guidance of theCoordinator Water Project Delivery, you will assist with the development of engineered solutions, stakeholder engagement, risk management, project reporting, and ensure compliance with State and Federal funding requirements.
If you are a motivated and collaborative engineer with a strong background in water and sewer infrastructure projects, this role offers you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management support while contributing to high-quality outcomes for your community.
To succeed in this role, you'll have a solid foundation in civil or environmental engineering, with practical experience in managing or supporting the delivery of water and sewer infrastructure projects.
You will be detail-oriented, organised, and able to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining strong communication and teamwork.
Key Skills & Experience: A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in supporting project management and delivery for infrastructure projects, preferably in water or sewer services.
Familiarity with project management processes, including planning, risk management, and reporting.
Understanding of safety in design, risk assessments (HAZOP, CHAIR), and compliance with relevant policies and standards.
Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
Experience in preparing tender documentation and supporting contract management processes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage projects at varying stages simultaneously.

Salary: Salary range circa $91,000 p.a.
- $100,000 p.a.
plus superannuation.
Civil Liability Allowance: 3.5% Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree.
You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
