Job Description Benefits Personalised career progression plans to help you achieve your goalsSupport delivery of multiple large bridges on this iconic projectJoin a VIC Big Build Project – The M80 Ring RoadCome on board with a global business with a big pipeline of future workThe Project The M80 Ring Road Alliance (comprising ACCIONA, MACA, and AECOM) has been selected to design and construct the M80 Ring Road Completion.
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link.
Works include the construction of 14 kilometres of new lanes, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping.
This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position: Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer/Project Manager:
As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfactionManage a rolling 4-6 week look ahead program & be involved in 3-6 month forward planningIdentify, analyze & mitigate risk, developing strategies and plansDrive subcontractor performance to meet project outcomes and milestonesEnsure all environment, sustainability, quality, safety & IR contract obligations are metSupport procurement activities proactivelyBe a champion for safety and ensure safety processes are followed in line with legislative & project requirementsAttend design reviews and provide advice relating to constructability, temporary works designs, safety, and site accessReview, interpret and manage contractsParticipate in client/contractor meetingsFinancial forecasting and budget ownership for cost codesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and innovationProvide mentoring & development to project teams made of up cadets, graduates, & site engineersBe responsible for delivery of structures packages on multiple bridges, Steel, concrete, piling, FRP works etc.
This will involve a combination of self-performed and subcontracted worksRequired Skills and Competencies You will have a tertiary education in civil engineering, construction or similar.Advanced programming & planning skillsExcellent commercial acumen with confidence in managing contracts and forecastingAble to thrive in a challenging, dynamic and fast-moving environmentWell-developed communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and clientsACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023 & 2024 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
