SMW Group is a proud Central Queensland business with over 20 years experience in the mining, construction and defence industries completing maintenance and repair work as well as new build projects.

Exposure to some of the most exciting projects currently under way in the central QLD/Bowen Basin area.
This is a senior position within a small design/engineering team. The role plays a pivotal part in the fabrication shop and field engineering workflow. As a varied and challenging role, no two days are guaranteed to be the same with a wide range of work and projects that will ensure that you will be kept busy and constantly pushed to better yourself.
You will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

You will have the ability to think on your feet and are confident in your decision-making process. You will be customer-focused and sound in all aspects of communication. You will demonstrate your ability to listen and understand instruction and are not afraid to ask questions. A can-do attitude goes a long way with us; you will have the ability to shoulder responsibility and take ownership of your work.
Responsibilities Include: Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the workflow through a busy engineering & fabrication facility.Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.Interact daily with the manufacturing team to ensure compliance to plan.Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status.Cooperate and communicate effectively with Fabrication Planner, Supervisors and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.Requirements: Proven working experience as a project engineer or Project Manager.Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD.Advanced MS Office skills.Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.Ability to work with multiple projects.Project management and supervision skills.Decision-making ability and leadership skills.Time management and organization skills.Engineering or relevant field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
