Project Engineer – Rail

The Daracon Group is comprised of multiple businesses that collectively provide an effective and integrated civil construction service to a wide cross section of public and private clients.
A rare opportunity exists for a Project Engineer to join our Hunter Civil Team on a permanent basis within our Rail Division.
This role will see you based in the Hunter Region.
Due to the success of our Rail Division, we currently have the immediate need for an additional Project Engineer to join the team based in our Mount Thorley Depot.
This is a key role within our Rail Division that will offer you an unrivalled opportunity for career growth and success in line with the development and expansion of this Division.
You will be responsible for: Working with our Site Engineering and Supervisory Team for the management of both Civil and Rail Projects which means coordinating engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications. Managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes, utilise effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management. Development and manage all project specific documentation. Contribute to continual improvements of existing designs. To be considered for this role you will have: A degree level of qualification in Civil Engineering or similar. Rail experience preferred but not necessary. A high level of technical expertise. Experience on civil construction sites, concrete or bulk earthworks projects would also be welcomed. A Class C Drivers Licence. Strong organisational skills in order to be able to manage your time and plan effectively in a fast paced, diverse and ever-changing environment. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, in particular an ability to negotiate and influence others at a variety of levels of business dealing with all stakeholders. The ability to work well as part of a team, building strong relationships with those around you. Excellent leadership skills, in order to lead a team forwards to meet key project milestones and deliverables. Confidence in your decision making ability, particularly the ability to think outside of the square, problem solve and act accordingly. Excellent attitude towards health, safety, environmental and quality outcomes, embedding this commitment in everything you do. The potential to coach and mentor less experienced team members to assist in their development and transfer of your skills and expertise.
