Project Engineer - Mechanical - 262001
The purpose of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of quality capital works projects for TasWater that will meet the needs of TasWater's business, their stakeholders and the communities of Tasmania for years to come.
The TasWater CDO manages the TasWater Capital Works Program from inception to completion including the planning, design, procurement, and delivery phases.
We are on the lookout for individuals who will contribute to the development and delivery of our upcoming long-term TasWater CDO projects.
Our projects are based across the state of Tasmania, some including the Selfs Point Sewage Treatment Plant Expansion Project, Tamar Estuary River Health Action Plan Project (TERHAP), Bicheno Recycled Water Scheme, Regional Towns Water Supply Project, Smithton Sewage Pump Station Upgrade & Pet Dam Safety Upgrade.
About the Role
UGL are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to assist on projects that we have located in the North-West of Tasmania.
This role can be based out of either Launceston, Devonport or Burnie with the requirement to travel to sites across the state.
What will a day look like in this role
Liaise with subcontractors to ensure job is constructed to the technical, quality and customer requirements.
Ensure that the survey of installations throughout the project is conducted in a professional manner with all results being reviewed and accepted as correct with actions coordinated and documented.
Liaise with Project Manager to ensure job is on schedule.
Provide a focal point for all technical based queries for associated civil/structural subcontractors and suppliers.
Provide engineering advice for subcontractors/suppliers.
Assist the Project Manager in preparation of monthly reports and also attend the monthly report meetings.
What would we expect you to bring to the team
Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
Significant engineering experience throughout design, construction and commissioning on Brownfields and Greenfields projects.
Any water infrastructure experience will be desirable.
Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
