We have an exciting opportunity to join the Opal team as our site in Botany, NSW is currently looking for an experienced Project Engineer to come onboard!
With the ongoing development of our Paper Mill in Botany, there is a strong pipeline of initiatives that require dedicated project management to see them through to completion, with a high level of emphasis on safety/compliance, efficiency, and profitability.
The key focus of this role will be to:
Properly identify and scope CAPEX projectsOversee the implementation of CAPEX projectsManage multiple projects across the entire paper mill operationEnsure Change management is handled in a structured and controlled mannerWork closely with the site groups to scope and develop project plansSet and manage the project budgetIdentify project risks and implement mitigation plansCoordinate all activities and work for the initiatives linked to the project (including: coordinate with contractors, manage work teams, liaise with external project managers, etc.

For this role we would ideally like you to have:
An engineering degree (preferably with a key focus in mechanical, mechatronics or electrical)5 years of experience in project engineering/project managementAbility to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholdersExperience in overseeing multiple projects at oncePrevious experience working in a continuous manufacturing environment (preferably heavy industry)Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholdersApplications are open to both internal and external candidates.
