As a Project Engineer within Multiplex, you will be responsible for the overall technical co-ordination of the construction process (in conjunction with the senior management team), through the co-ordination and documentation of design and program requirements. The role provides a link between design, building services and sub-contracts to ensure project objectives are met.
Key Accountabilities: Assist Project Management throughout the value management process to maximise the financial benefit of the designManage changes to engineering design whilst being mindful of budgetary requirementsAssist Contracts Manager/Administrators to prepare sub contract packagesMaintain awareness of contractual obligations of both the head contract and sub contractAct as a conduit for communicating relevant information as appropriate to consultants, authorities, site supervisors, construction workers and sub-contractorsMonitor and review the performance of direct reports and provide leadership, mentoring and coachingAssist the management team to create and implement the Project Management PlanCo-ordinate the activities of design management and provide a link between the design and construction to ensure the buildability of a designReview design to assess and ensure its compliance with requirements of regulatory authoritiesUndertake programming, planning and forecasting to ensure construction activities take place within overall construction programEnsure quality assurance processes and standards for a construction project are adhered toAssist project management to develop and implement a site safety plan with particular focus on identifying particular OH&S hazardsKey Skillset Required: Proven background in Engineering, Commercial Construction and Delivery processAbility to see a project through from Cradle to Grave, getting involved in all stages from early design concepts and tender phase, through structure, then turn hand to fit-out, façade, services.Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual documentation deliveryAbility to read and challenge technical drawingsKnowledge of the Building Code of AustraliaKnowledge of Design, Estimating and ProcurementExperience in tender submission processSolid analytical & problem solving skillsWe invite applications from people of all genders, cultures and walks of life.
