Job Summary: As Project Engineer, you will lead a team and interpret, organise, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for complex projects. You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget.
Major Responsibilities: Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a small project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project. Possesses technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments. Ensures the facilities are designed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, authorization basis, codes, standards, and technical requirements. Represents Engineering on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions, expedite procurements, coordinate construction interfaces, and as required to coordinate work. Ensures work process execution and technical adequacy are in accordance with contract and industry standards. Coordinates engineering effort with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H), and Project Controls. Prepares or directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports, and plant data book. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 - 10 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience of design development, feasibility studies, detailed design, and in managing design consultants, including scoping, technical specifications, tender evaluations, design review, and construction supervision. Knowledge of close client secondment interaction, EPCM contract management, and the Contractor(s) and their subcontractor's responsibilities. Knowledge of construction technologies & supervisory functions relating to field activities. Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program or similar. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Demonstrated strong organizational skills. Proven customer relationship skills are essential. Familiar with current industry quality standards. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
