About this Position: We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Roads department.
The primary function of the Project Engineer is to ensure the efficient, safe and effective delivery of capital works projects and maintenance works associated with all transport assets and quarry operations.
This role involves applying engineering best practices to optimise project outcomes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of design, planning, and execution.

Oversee contractor performance, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout project delivery.
Lead risk and quality management processes by identifying issues, implementing solutions, and maintaining high safety standards across all operations.
Manage stakeholder communication effectively, providing clear updates, addressing concerns, and resolving conflicts where needed.
Provide technical input and on-site support for projects, while mentoring Graduate Engineers to build their skills and ensure project consistency.
Monitor project finances and identify cost-saving opportunities to optimise resource use and deliver value for the Council.
What you will need to be successful: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil – 4-year degree) or similar recognised by Engineers Australia.
Eligibility for membership of a professional body (LGEA, IPWEA, IEA).
General Construction Induction Card (White card).
Current Class C Drivers Licence.
Have personal integrity and take responsibility.
Have the ability to prioritise and schedule work and meet deadlines.
Be able to provide constructive feedback and support team development.
Be flexible and agile to work across different business areas.
