About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to provide support to the Group businesses through the design, specification and delivery of engineering projects and the provision of technical support. More specifically, your duties will include: Development of strategic operational solutions across all Group businesses, incorporating short, medium and long-term priorities Undertaking investigations, feasibility studies and providing written reports Preparing estimates for projects / project elements. Managing the scope, budget and schedule of projects while ensuring customer expectations are met. Preparing and managing the tender process for equipment supply to achieve best outcomes for Group businesses. Engaging with Operations and Maintenance departments to help build capability in managing their own operating equipment. Addressing quality, safety, environmental and sustainability objectives whilst delivering projects that align with strategic business objectives Knowledge, experience, competencies and motivation. About You Due to the multi-site aspect of this job, there will be consistent travel required. This will mostly be to regional facilities in NSW and VIC. It is expected that will be approximately 1 week in 4. These trips will see you working with many different staff within the Group, at all levels, from operational plant floor staff through to Senior management. Therefore, we need a skilled and experienced relationship builder, who enjoys the people aspect of their work as much as the technical responsibilities. Some of the more traditional engineering requirements of the role are: Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical)
Project management experience, including development and assessment of equipment tenders and site supervision during construction and installation
Experience working in a food manufacturing environment Commissioning and acceptance testing of mechanical/electrical equipment Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as CAD Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders You are confident at solving complex problems and developing effective solutions The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment A continuous learning mindset to stay updated with advancements in engineering techniques and technologies Experience working with materials handling and packaging equipment would be highly regarded and a drivers licence is essential.
