Our client is a global design firm that provides architecture, engineering, and consulting services to clients in various industries. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, they strive to create impactful solutions that enhance communities and the environment. Their Australian business is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects across the country and is seeking a talented Civil / Bulk Earthworks Project Engineer to work on a secondment basis with a market leading Energy company. The project is a $700 million Mine expansion project, involving a new open cut mine and on-site infrastructure including a processing plant and rail spur.
Key Responsibilities: Provide engineering support and project schedule management duties as delegated by the Bulk Earthworks Project Manager. Inspect Bulk Earthworks site work to monitor progress and ensure conformance to package design and specifications. Participate in surveying activities to verify layout of installations and establish reference points, grades, and elevations associated with construction. Coordinate and attend site meetings to provide technical issue clarification. As client liaison, identify and address onsite issues to facilitate resolving potential delays and scope disputes. Monitor VEP HSE-expectations on contractor through daily site observations (such as pre-start meetings, safe work practices, safe vehicle operations, hazard warning, safety interactions, etc.). Review incident reports and inform the Project Manager. About you: Engineering Related Degree. Specific project experience on Bulk Earthwork projects in the mining or infrastructure sectors. Strong knowledge of construction practices, design specifications, and surveying techniques. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Team player with the ability to work in partnership with various stakeholders and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You'll be based in Brisbane CBD, with a starting salary of $110 per hour inclusive of super.
