Are you up for the challenge? John Holland as part of a JV has recently been awarded a major works contract for the delivery of Light Rail Stage 2 A – City to Commonwealth Park in Canberra ACT over the next 4 years.
The project will see three new stops built at Edinburgh Avenue, City South and Commonwealth Avenue, extending the network by 1.7 kilometres.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join the team and play a key role in delivering Canberra Light Rail Stage 2 A.
In particular we'd like to hear from you if your experience covers: Civil works – Roads, Pavements, drainage, temporary works and landscaping.
Utilities – Installation and coordination.
Track works - installation, coordination and interface management.
CSR - installation, coordination and interface management.
Signalling - system knowledge, installation, test and commissioning.
About you: You will enjoy project delivery and working in a busy team.
4-5 years minimum onsite construction experience, rail experience desirable but not essential.
Have an appetite for budgets, systems, stakeholders, planning and construction delivery.
Safety values, communication skills, people skills and live and breathe John Holland's 'People First' culture are essential.
Hold a current driver's license.
Responsibilities: Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals, standards and JHG SQE Risk Management process.
Input information and undertake minor design on site, monitor and recommend changes to design details.
Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e.
construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgets.
Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.
Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Site Manager.
Maintain drawing register controls for the project.
Implement and communicate risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
Demonstrate skills in reporting on project performance, compliance and defects and/or non-conformance.
Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality.
Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures.
