Project Engineer / Contracts Administrator - Developer BuilderExciting opportunity to work with an established Residential Developer builder with a large pipeline of projects taking developments from front end through to completion.
Our client is a growing residential developer who are now seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Contracts Administrator to join their professional and highly experienced team based in Canberra.
Our client looks for hard working candidates with a can-do attitude who strives to achieve the best outcomes and is passionate about the industry. Will need to have strong communications skills and have a problem-solving mentality. The projects you will be working on is a residential/apartment from smaller up to circa $20m+.
Will be reporting into a senior leader in the business who will be a great mentor and will be an amazing opportunity to join a company with an attractive pipeline of projects.
Sample CA duties include but not limited to: Managing all facets of the subcontract processNegotiate and review subcontract tenders including preparation of tender comparison for reviewPrepare, check and review subcontract packages, scopes, lettings and procurement schedulesMonitor subcontractors to ensure they are adhering to environmental commitments and responsibilitiesPreparation of accurate payment schedulesUnderstand and manage subcontractor contractual riskProcess progress claims, delay claims and external variations according to contractual obligationsPreparation of project budgets for review and provide accurate rolling final account forecastsAssist in the preparation and administration of project completion and inspection test plansSample Project Engineer Duties Design comprehensive project programmesCommunicate project programme to the teamIdentify key milestones for foreman short range programmesEnsure construction programmes are followed and regularly updated with short and long term project plansIdentify and manage construction risk throughout all projectsManage project expenditure and cashflow to optimise financial outcomeProvide accurate monthly rolling final account forecasts to Project Manager and potentially clientsAdminister the head contract and subcontract, including progress claims, variation, delay and extension to time claimsNegotiate and let subcontracts against budgetSkills & Experience: Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying / Project Management or Construction Management qualificationsInterpretation of Technical documentsIdeally understanding design, development and delivery process of Residential projectsPrevious project delivery experienceSuperior communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to take initiative and work self-directed to achieve resultsAbility to identify and solve problems if/when they ariseSuperior knowledge of MS Office Suite, Word, Excel etc.This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with an established organisation who offer challenging work.
