Location: Perth, WA 6000Work Type: Contract/TempDuration: 12 months initial contractPositions: 1About our client and projectOur client, a leading player in the engineering sector, is seeking a Project Engineer with a Civil background to join their dynamic team on various heavy haul rail study and design projects for their tier 1 clients. The person may also be required to support rail renewals project.ResponsibilitiesPrepare schedules for design work and obtaining approvals for flow sheets and drawings.Develop project schedules, budgets and forecasts.Obtain appropriate approvals for documentation including but not limited to calculations, specifications, variations etc.Monitor and report on aspects of project quality, cost and schedule.Monitor and identify risks to the project and drive implementation of appropriate controls and mitigations.Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, operations, EPCM service providers and other contractors on an ongoing basis.Resolve potential issues or escalate them to the Project Manager.Develop and implement project controls and specifications, schedules and cost estimates.What You'll Need to SucceedBachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering.4-8 years of professional experience in project engineering and project management.Demonstrated experience working on mining and rail engineering projects.Understanding of heavy haul rail projects will be well-regarded.Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships.Highly developed written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.Proven project management skills (achieving prescribed budget, timeframe and customer requirements)Ability to interpret and communicate technical information.What's on Offer:Exposure to a growing sector.Competitive hourly rate.Flexible working arrangements.Career development opportunities.Team activities and a supportive team culture.Learning and development opportunities.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.
