The Director reports to the Executive Director of Curriculum and is a key member of the VCAA Executive Leadership Team chaired by the Chief Executive Officer and responsible to the VCAA Board.

About the RoleThe Director is responsible for overseeing the development of the VCE examinations, including leadership of the examinations unit.
This also involves implementing ongoing improvements to the VCE examination processes, including overseeing the implementation of recommendations from the Independent Review into VCE Examinations.
In developing, monitoring, revising, and supporting implementation, the Director considers international and national research with a view to understanding broader social, economic, employment, and demographic trends to inform the work.
The Director takes a lead role in developing ongoing partnerships with various stakeholders, including but not limited to the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership and Subject Associations.
The Director works with the Executive Directors of Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting, and Senior Secondary Certificate Reform Divisions to operationalise improved recognition of the links between curriculum content and assessment such as NAPLAN, VCE examinations and assessments, and the Digital Assessment Library.
The Director takes a lead role working closely with Unit Leaders and the Directors and Executive Director in the Division to realise the VCAA Strategic Plan.

Desirable Qualifications and ExperienceEssential: Tertiary degree in a relevant education or project management field and/or experience in educational assessment.
Desirable: Experience in managing complex and/or innovative projects in the education field.
