This NSW regional role provides senior management, professional and technical leadership in the construction of the works and monitors activities to ensure that works are delivered safely and successfully. The role will manage and work with contractors and service providers to deliver the works in a collaborative and cooperative manner, to support subsequent construction activities and to ensure the timely and effective delivery of the project.

Hudson Executive Recruitment have an exceptional Director level, leadership role managing a pinnacle reconstruction project which is the largest transport contract undertaken to date. The infrastructure director will oversee the management of the local council team and professionals who are deployed to undertake the reconstruction, whilst managing the relationship with third party project delivery providers to deploy their services across this critical and pinnacle project. Further, you will lead, develop, implement and manage the delivery frameworks and processes to ensure the successful execution of the Project Delivery objective. You will be a dynamic, culturally inclusive leader experienced across civil construction, reconstruction of roads and operations, with specific proficiency in large scale project delivery and practical knowledge in applying and tailoring industry delivery approaches (such as Design and Construct (D&C), Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) in an organisational context.

Skills and Experience Required:

A working history in construction and significant experience in Program and/or Project management with qualifications.

A senior level of relevant professional experience in construction and operational leadership managing a Tier 1 or Tier 2 to achieve project outcomes.

Working history and experience delivering reconstruction projects in a leadership position across technical infrastructure standards including roads, drainage, bridges and other public assets.

Direct the planning and organisation of schedule of works to optimise safe and timely delivery, and minimise disruption, delay and inconvenience to customers and other affected public, road and public transport users, adjacent businesses, stakeholders, and the community.

Providing technical and governance advice and risk management and mitigation actively addressing risks relating to Safety, Quality, Environment, Financial, reputation and resourcing.

Customer Service including engaging with the community, funding bodies, government organisations internal and external customers to understand their expectations and request feedback on service delivery.

Procurement in accordance with Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulation 2021 and Council's Procurement Framework.

Demonstrable record of successfully delivering short and long-term monitoring of construction performance, tracking of metrics, and driving performance improvements to manage efficient projects and maintenance works.

A demonstrated record of successful leadership and management of teams, promoting diversity and developing an inclusive, high-performing culture. Experience in all aspects of people management including recruitment, capability development and performance management.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently at all levels, presenting complex construction issues and concepts in a style appropriate to the audience, and the ability to represent the organisation externally.

Demonstrated ability to drive, deliver and sustain large-scale transformation to achieve objectives in a complex environment.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, shape conversations, and change behaviours through effective relationships.
