As a result of a growth driven by a growing volume of awarded work in commodities including metals and battery minerals, our team is growing and seeking an experienced and motivated Project Director to join our projects team.
This pivotal role will drive the delivery of a key hard rock project in Africa.
Based in Perth, this role will suit a candidate with familiarity with similar remote projects in the African region and experience in successfully delivering similar EPCM projects in metals to high standards.
About the Role Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams, providing clear direction, guidance, and support to achieve project objectives.
Oversee all aspects of project execution, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Monitor project performance metrics and take proactive measures to address any deviations from established targets.
Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Manage stakeholder communications and foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
Provide timely progress reports to Senior Management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, promoting innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and corporate policies.
About You A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
A proven track record within project management roles within the mining and mineral processing industry.
Strong technical background with expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams at all levels, across different cultures.
Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and software applications.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects in multicultural environments, preferably within international settings.
Familiarity with Namibian regulatory requirements and cultural dynamics is advantageous.
PMP or Prince2 certification is desirable.
