Due to the growing number of project awards in various sectors, our client's team is expanding and seeking an experienced and motivated Project Director to join their projects team.
This key role will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of a Greenfield project in West Africa.
The position is based in Perth, and the ideal candidate will have experience managing similar remote projects in the African region, along with a proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality EPCM projects in the metals sector.The role will eventually transition to a FIFO arrangement.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute project plans, covering timelines, budgets, and resource strategies.
Lead and guide multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Oversee all project phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Monitor performance metrics and proactively address deviations.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure safety and reduce risks.
Manage stakeholder communications and build strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Provide timely progress updates to Senior Management.
Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

Experience/Requirements

A Bachelor Degree in Engineering (mechanical or process), Project Management, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
A successful track record in project management roles within the mining and mineral processing industry.
Strong technical expertise in project planning, execution, and delivery.
Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire multidisciplinary teams across different levels and cultures.
In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software applications.
Proven experience managing complex projects in multicultural and international environmentsAfrican experience

PMP or Prince2 certification is desirable.
