Rare opportunity to Project Direct the development and construction of a new mine in the Northern Territory Your new company Our client, a mining company specialised in the exploration, development, and operations of key commodities in the Northern Territory, is recruiting a Project Director to support the CEO in leading and managing a new project. Your new role As a Project Director, you will be responsible for ensuring financial and governance discipline, project quality, and effective management of the overall construction process. This is a permanent role available on a FIFO roster from Australian capital cities. Your key responsibilities will be: Manage and report on the project financial resources. Ensure legislative and best practice compliance with all statutory and governance requirements and oversee audit activities. Assist external parties with construction monitoring activities and reviews. Deliver management reporting on project level dependencies ensuring all impacts are identified to minimise timelines. Develop timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, and presentation. Coordinate with all project stakeholders to ensure project delivery within time, budget, and quality standards. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role you will have: Previous mining development and construction experience is essential. Mining Engineer experience or relevant technical qualifications in Mining Engineering is desirable. Experience in strategic decision-making, providing leadership and direction to project managers to implement those decisions, and meeting with the Board of Directors and Executive Team, stakeholders, and Project managers to report on project progress. Be able to devise cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion, manage risks to avoid delays or reputational damage, and ensure adherence to governance, policies, and procedures across the project. Significant experience in leading and directing external parties with Construction Monitoring activities and reviews, to ensure the success of the project.
