About the role: The Investment Strategy and Client Control Office provides a key interface between the delivery agency and the Department of Health (the department) to manage concise and timely advice and clarification of project requirements, guidance on governance processes, reviews and approvals for any changes to ensure that projects integrate into the health system and the intended benefits are realised.
The leadership role will support the planning, procurement, delivery, and integration of health infrastructure investments.
As the Project Director, Client Control Office you will be responsible for activities to support project development, design, delivery and integration in collaboration with stakeholders.
The Project Director will represent the department or client views in various forums and discussions. An understanding of health infrastructure or health service delivery would be highly beneficial to the role. Strong and engaging interpersonal and stakeholder management skills will be a key to success in the role, as will experience in establishing and managing change control processes for major projects.
How you'll make a difference: With the significant number of health infrastructure projects in development or delivery, a strong client-side interface to represent client requirements and interests is required. The department is establishing this function to ensure that as projects evolve, the projects remain focused on delivering benefits to the health system as originally intended in line with clinical and broader health system priorities identified.
You will:
Be a high performing individual with strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, policy development and communication skills.Have highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills including project scheduling to compile and develop professional, technical and quality documentation and management reports on a program of specialist projects of a complex nature.Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record in effectively managing complex and highly sensitive negotiations with multiple stakeholders, often with competing priorities.Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: Demonstrated significant achievement in the planning, development or delivery of health infrastructure projects, within the scheduled timeframe and budget optimising project benefits, safety, environmental impacts, reliability, operational characteristics and maintainability, through to handover.Extensive experience and proven expertise in project management of health infrastructure projects, with complex commercial responsibilities, multiple stakeholders and significant risk management experience.Contemporary experience in health infrastructure planning, engineering, architecture, health system planning, clinical planning, project management and business case development.What we offer: The opportunity to perform meaningful work, making direct contributions toward enabling Victorians to be the healthiest people in the world.A wide range of growth and development opportunities within the department and wider Victorian Public Service & Sector.A strong commitment to work-life balance, including a diverse array of flexible working arrangements.How to apply: Applications should include a resume and a cover letter.
