To support ongoing operations and responsible tailings management, Newmont is progressing finalisation of a study and delivery of a new tailing storage facility at Boddington, along with associated infrastructure.
Reporting to the Head of Projects Australia and PNG, in this role you will have overall leadership accountability for the Boddington RDA Project.
With the project approaching Feasibility Stage, you will work collaboratively with the studies team and oversee all aspects of the project through to final hand over to Operations.
Accountabilities will include Development of appropriate execution and contract strategies, partner selection and management to achieve project safety, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
Embed a strong HSE culture focused on safety in design, fatality prevention, and the creation of a safe and equitable workplace.
Establish and develop a high performing project team, building site skills and competencies to advance the project and support the ongoing operation.
Continually evaluate exposure to risk, both opportunities and threats, to maximize positive impacts and mitigate negative impacts on the project and its outcomes.
Build governance and assurance processes to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.
Act with integrity, care, and trustworthiness to steward the safe delivery of the project in accordance with Newmont requirements and external Stakeholder expectations.
Integrate all aspects of the development including HSE, scope, schedule cost, quality, contracts and procurement, risk, stakeholder and change management, controls and reporting, commissioning.
About you Tertiary Qualifications in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or other relevant disciplines, together with significant experience in delivering major earthworks / tailings projects and capacity to work with regulators, contractors and delivery partners.
As a Senior member of the Global Projects team, you will be an individual who accepts and recognises the influence a leader has in shaping the organisational culture and is always demonstrating alignment to the Newmont Values.
An excellent communicator who can articulate delivery strategies and direction, you will be able to liaise across multiple levels and influence and negotiate to achieve positive and productive outcomes.
Your ability to builds productive cross-functional business alliances with a focus on working collaboratively whilst retaining the requirement to be decisive and make decisions that provide direction and certainty when ambiguity and uncertainty exists is paramount.
You will be a highly motivated, capable Project Manager with drive and resilience to deliver project requirements in the face of complex challenges.
A willingness and natural curiosity to ensure the right questions are asked, the right work is done, risks are understood, opportunities are being utilised continuous improvement is being undertaken.
A genuine leader, you will have an interest in developing people and personal development and encouraging an inclusive culture where your team feel safe to contribute, collaborate, receive feedback and coaching.
