As a Project Development Manager, you will lead the development of wind farm projects from inception to execution.
You will identify, evaluate, and secure new project opportunities globally. Your expertise in renewable energy, project management, and stakeholder engagement will be instrumental in navigating regulatory landscapes and delivering successful wind farm developments.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate new project opportunities for wind farm developments, including site identification, land acquisition, and feasibility assessments. Develop and implement project development strategies, including permitting, environmental assessments, and community engagement. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient project delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project challenges and maximize success. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, government agencies, local communities, and utility partners, to facilitate project development activities. Negotiate land agreements, lease agreements, and power purchase agreements to secure project rights and off-take arrangements. Lead project feasibility studies, including wind resource assessments, energy yield analysis, and financial modeling, to support investment decisions. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to transition projects from development to construction phase. Manage relationships with project partners, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment with project objectives and deliverables. Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks for project development. Prepare and present project updates, progress reports, and investment proposals to senior management and stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project development processes, tools, and methodologies. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability within the Project Development team and across the organization. Travel to project sites and attend meetings, conferences, and industry events as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in project development, preferably within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on wind farm developments. Proven track record of successfully leading the development and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects from conception to operation. Strong understanding of project management principles, including project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Solid technical understanding of wind energy technologies, project finance, and regulatory requirements for wind farm developments. Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office suite, and GIS tools. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
