Your part in it The Project Development Engineer will collaborate closely with the project development team, managing the technical aspects of a portfolio of renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include preliminary design, grid connection coordination, and providing technical oversight across various development workstreams. The role will primarily focus on wind energy projects, with involvement in some hybrid renewable initiatives. This position reports directly to the Director of Development.
What you'll put into it Provide engineering expertise and technical support in the evaluation, development, and construction of wind energy, solar, and storage projects. Coordinating and managing the grid connection strategy for each development project. Assist in project design by conducting GIS analysis, optimizing layouts, and creating detailed maps. Analyse wind and solar resource assessments, including designing measurement campaigns, ensuring data quality, conducting energy yield analysis, and optimizing layout designs. Conduct site visits to evaluate access routes and general technical workstreams that support the overall development process. Collaborate with the commercial team to provide technical insights for financial assessments. What you'll bring to it Relevant tertiary engineering degree qualification In-depth understanding and awareness of the Australian Energy Market. Understanding of grid connection processes Appreciation in wind farm design software (e.g., windPRO, WindFarmer, etc.). Prior experience mapping/G.I.S Join us in shaping the future of our renewable energy landscape and delivering innovative wind farm projects across the country.
