Merit List/Pools and How They Will Be UsedApplicants suitable for the role but not offered the position for the current vacancy may be placed in a merit list or pool. The Key Duties of the Position Include:The Role
As a member of the Project Costing and Finance Chapter, you will be an integral part of the project team delivering large transformational projects. You will be embedded into teams to manage project financial performance and will collaborate with project managers to develop and manage project budgets and forecasts. You will ensure accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting for major ICT projects, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
You may work on the development of business cases for major ICT capability development to support the financial evaluation of new projects. Through your subject matter expertise and commitment to professional development, you will be an essential part of DDG driving project efficiency during a period of growth and transformation.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. Members of the Project Cost & Finance Chapter will work with projects in those Divisions to deliver ICT capability for Defence. Our Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will have:
A proven track record of managing costing activities for business cases and ICT projects.Ability to manage finances for large programs and/or projects.Ability to drive outcomes and execute on complex delivery initiatives.Demonstrated high level communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and initiatives, and be approachable.Knowledge in the application of agile ways of working.A desire to lead change and adopt new ways of working.Experience mentoring or managing staff to develop their careers.Security Clearance
