The greenfield Eva Copper Mine Project is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony Gold Mining Company Pty Ltd.The Project will be the largest mining operation in North West Queensland with a minimum mine life of 15 years, and will involve mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. The project is permitted, and the mine site will include development of these pits, a copper concentrator, associated processing and non-processing services and infrastructure including tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, water management facilities, power generation and an accommodation village.Harmony is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in support of achieving near term 1st production and are seeking highly motivated and experienced people to join our growing project delivery and operations teams. The Execution Phase will commence with front-end engineering and design, and in parallel preliminary site works will also be progressed in support of full project execution post final investment decision. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of defining, building and operating a major forward-facing metal mining operation that will offer employment opportunities across the project life cycle, from project definition and delivery into operations.We currently have a vacancy for a talented Project Cost Engineer to join our project team based in Milton. This role will be offered on a minimum term engagement of 2 years with potential for permanent employment.Responsibilities include:Control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices, claims and variations from suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.Update Cost Management System (Contruent (PRISM)).Monitor, evaluate, reconcile, report, and update project cost data against budgeted amounts.Budget, commitment management, and variances reporting.Forecasting monthly expenditure and total project cost at completion.Develop cost trends and make recommendations based on the trends.Track pending variations and changes.Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring.Attend project meetings and discussions with the contractors.Assess value of variations from suppliers, vendors, and contractors.Liaise with Head Office for accounting support.What you will bring to Harmony:Minimum of 7 years' EPCM or EPC project experience.Thorough understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.Proficient with cost control system processes and software, spreadsheets, database skills, construction sequences on large projects.Ability to prioritise and schedule complex and variable processes that require adjustments to meet changing needs.Proficient with and experienced in the use of Contruent and advanced Microsoft Office suite skills.Member of ACES/AACEI is also desirable.LocationOffice-based role at our Milton office in Brisbane with ad-hoc travel as the project demands.What We OfferAn opportunity to be part of a formidable team focused on building an exciting, new project.Eligible to participate in the company bonus scheme.Highly competitive remuneration, incentives, and other benefits.Corporate / discounted rates with Medibank and Qantas Club.Access to Harmony's benefits discounts scheme.Harmony is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Work for a company who values their employees and recognises their contribution.We understand that to accomplish our goals, we must work as a team and rely on the efforts of every team member.
