Project Cost Controller

The Role Martinus is seeking an experienced Project Cost Controller to join our team in our North Sydney office.
The Project Cost Controller will lead and manage the project cost reporting for one of Martinus Project.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to closely collaborate with the operation team to ensure effective cost management throughout the life of the project.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Develop and maintain project budgets in coordination with project managers and finance teams.
Monitor budget variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.Work closely with project managers to evaluate change requests and update budgets accordingly.Track and analyse project costs, including expenditures, budgets, and forecasts, to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.Review contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.Develop risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to project cost management.Identify opportunities to enhance cost control processes and tools.Liaise with project stakeholders, including project managers, finance teams, contractors, and clients, to provide regular updates on project financial performance and address any cost-related queries or concerns.Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.Proven experience in cost control or financial management, preferably within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting software, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software applications.Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting techniques, and cost management practices.Ability to analyse complex financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to support decision-making.Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is desirable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
