The Role: An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Cost Controller to join Lynas Rare Earths. This is a fixed term 12-month contract based in Perth, with regular visits to site as required.
The Project Cost Controller is a key member of the Perth Based Capital Projects Team. This role is responsible for implementing and overseeing project control disciplines for a portfolio of capital projects both domestically and overseas. The Cost Controller will work closely with colleagues in construction, processing, HSE, contracting and procurement, and other functional groups to deliver safe, competitive, and predictable projects that meet or exceed the budgets and g-range plans.
Key Responsibilities: Timely and accurate reporting on cost and progress including monthly variance analysis and narrative. Early identification and tracking of project changes in change register. Ability to analysis and challenge cost estimation and assumptions over all the cost category disciplines. Establishment of the project's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and allocation of budget in Pronto. Monthly allocation and reconciliation of Owner's team, corporate overheads and specific owners team cost, engineering, and other vendor costs from cost center to projects. Preparation and/or supervision of Project Change Notice (PCN) and maintenance of change register. Prepare and submit monthly phased forecast for each project in Pronto PPM. Assist in the development and standardization of reporting templates for Project Controls specific process deliverables using recognized Project Management (PPM) principles. Liaise with finance representatives for the month end closing process, including calculating Value of Work Done (VOWD), accruals, and Pronto journal entries. As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will have: Relevant experience as an Owner's or EPCM project control representative in major project construction projects and, resource processing environment preferred. Demonstration of experience on capital projects across all stages/phases. It is preferred that the experience is a mix of time in office as well as time on site. Previous experience with Pronto highly regarded.
