Waste and Cleansing team have an exciting 12-month term contract opportunity working as the Project Coordinator.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator to oversee the development and evaluation of waste and cleansing policies and strategies. In this role, you will support the Waste and Cleansing Team as they work towards achieving Council's strategic objectives and vision of being a leading City in the heart of Sydney!
You will drive waste avoidance, resource recovery and circular economy initiatives for council and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specific projects to support and encourage community participation in environmental practices and programs.
Liaise, support and partner with staff from across Council, other local councils, environmental networks, NGOs, Government, and community groups.
Prepare reports and assist in the development of policies, strategies, programs, and management.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of Council's waste and cleansing programs and adapt future programs accordingly.
Research and analyse waste and cleansing data and trends.
Identify and apply for funding opportunities relevant to waste and cleansing.
Assist in the planning and delivery of environmental themed events such as festivals, forums, and workshops.
Work with leaders to resolve high priority, and often sensitive and complex issues and conflict.
About You
We are looking for a versatile and forward-thinking candidate who can effectively collaborate in a team setting that has a proven track record in achieving outcomes.
We are looking for someone with:
Tertiary qualifications in environment, project management or related fields
Current NSW drivers' licence (class C)
Project and resource management experience with the ability to deliver projects within set budgets and timeframes.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, planning, preparation and monitoring.
Demonstrated experience in leading, developing, managing, and contributing to complex, diverse, sensitive projects.
Experience in providing high-level advice on strategic priorities and resource allocation needed to achieve waste and cleansing asset outcomes.
Report writing and strategy development.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
Previous experience working with or for Local Government.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

12-month term contract opportunity. We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $109,727 to $120,809 plus 11.5% superannuation. In addition, City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which include:
