The Company
Based in Hallam, our client specialises in the concept, development, validation and production of custom automotive solutions which are designed to improve driving safety and comfort. The organisation is expanding rapidly and they are seeking a Project Coordinator or Junior PM to join their growing team.
The Job
As the project coordinator/junior PM, you will lead project teams to deliver large complex automotive projects (planning, maintaining, executing and managing) to ensure projects are delivered on time with quality. You will need some understanding of engineering processes.
You Support the engineering team to execute all project deliverables on time with quality Act as a key interface between engineering, other Lumen departments, suppliers and customers with respect to project deliverables Adhere to all internal processes, and ISO/TS16949 and IATF16949 standards Plan and maintain an accurate project plan Ensure the project scope and core deliverables are clearly summarized in the project brief Work with all project stakeholders to establish an accurate and feasible plan Identify any critical path or high risk activities. Maintain focus on these activities throughout the life of the project Maintain an accurate project plan throughout the life of the project Ensure all stakeholder grant approvals at each project gate Maintaining an effective project issue list Each issue must be recorded and detailed to include an accurate description, status, assigned responsibility and follow up actions Each issue to be periodically reviewed and updated to ensure the project moves forward without risk to timing or other project outcomes Issues likely to affect project deliverables must be immediately escalated to management Conduct regular Project Development Team (PDT) meetings to ensure open communication is maintained with all project stakeholders Ensure project timing and open issues are effectively communicated and reviewed Distribute meeting minutes after each PT meeting Weekly reporting to management on project status Take ownership and execute all assigned project management activities in the time allocated. Example standard project management activities are; Liaise with sales to ensure customer milestones are clearly defined, and that purchase orders are received Liaise with procurement, sales and engineering to support the preparation of RFQ responses Working within the project administrative system to monitor and maintain part status Liaise with procurement to ensure material is ordered and procured in preparation for part build or customer deliverables Issuing of purchase orders Actively pursue stakeholders on critical path activities Liaise with suppliers to achieve project deliverables At project completion ensure all documentation is completed and communicated Qualification:
Qualification in Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering Project Management certification Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Able to multitask and effectively prioritize workload to complete tasks within time constraints Able to work autonomously Proactive approach to all tasks High attention to detail
