October 27, 2024 at 11:59 pmCape Breton University (CBU) is looking for a Project Coordinator under the direction of Dr. Carrie Karsgaard for an innovative project empowering youth as critical voices in climate decision-making. This initiative aims to transition students from activism to influential roles in policy creation, collaborating with educators and youth across 12 high-emission nations and 26 Canadian schools. This role is for approximately 2 years at 35 hours a week with a salary estimated at $59,113.00 per annum. ( Subject to External Funding).In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research team, and high school educators to coordinate a global networked classroom focused on climate change and energy transition. Your responsibilities will include:Organizing project activitiesManaging communications with stakeholdersDocumenting progressFacilitating workshops and eventsBudgeting and travel coordinationSupporting data collection effortsThe ideal candidate will have a university degree, experience with project coordination, and proficiency in collaborative tools like Google Suite. Strong organizational and communication skills, along with a proactive approach, are essential.
