Project Coordinator (Education) – Limited Term

Location: CBU Competition Number: 88 Deadline: October 27, 2024 at 11:59 pm Cape Breton University (CBU) is looking for a Project Coordinator under the direction of Dr. Carrie Karsgaard for an innovative project empowering youth as critical voices in climate decision-making.
This initiative aims to transition students from activism to influential roles in policy creation, collaborating with educators and youth across 12 high-emission nations and 26 Canadian schools.
This role is for approximately 2 years at 35 hours a week with a salary estimated at $59,113.00 per annum.
(Subject to External Funding).

In this role, you will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research team, and high school educators to coordinate a global networked classroom focused on climate change and energy transition.
Your responsibilities will include:
Organizing project activities Managing communications with stakeholders Documenting progress Facilitating workshops and events Budgeting and travel coordination Supporting data collection efforts The ideal candidate will have a university degree, experience with project coordination, and proficiency in collaborative tools like Google Suite.
Strong organizational and communication skills, along with a proactive approach, are essential.
You should be willing to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
