Project Coordinator - Aboriginal FathersWinanga-Li is currently seeking a qualified Project Coordinator for our Aboriginal Fathers program.
This essential role is ideal for an individual ready to contribute to a dedicated team within a supportive environment, providing culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal fathers and their families in the northwest NSW region.
Reporting to the Family Support Manager and working under general supervision, you will be empowered to apply your expertise and experience in family support while contributing meaningfully to the lives of the families we serve.
In this role, you will: Lead Support and Advocacy: Apply your skills to provide case management, parenting support, and skill-building to Aboriginal fathers, helping strengthen their family relationships and resilience.Plan and Engage: Organise and facilitate community events like Men's Groups and cultural excursions, promoting connection and engagement within the Aboriginal community.Problem-Solve and Prioritise: Using established procedures and professional judgment, plan and coordinate activities for Aboriginal fathers and families, adapting approaches to meet unique family needs.Provide Specialist Knowledge: Offer targeted expertise in social welfare and family support to help manage more complex cases, with access to guidance from senior staff as required.Qualifications & Experience Current Working With Children Check and Criminal Record CheckAboriginality (this is an Identified position)Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences or welfare services, or equivalent experience working with children and familiesProven experience working with families in crisis, managing conflict, and supporting parents through developmental challengesStrong organizational skills, time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative teamWhy Join Winanga-Li?
